Lactate Threshold

The exercise intensity at which lactate starts to accumulate in the blood

What Does This Mean?

Lactate threshold is the point during exercise when lactate builds up in the blood faster than it can be removed. For ultrarunners, training at or near this threshold can improve endurance and delay fatigue.
